The Food Minded Fellow Podcast highlights the dynamic food ecosystem on Martha’s Vineyard, told through the stories of the people behind it. Join me, your host Chef Gavin Smith, as I interview the farmers, fishermen, chefs and producers that contribute to this deliciously compelling Island.

ABOUT THE PODCAST

Did you know that Martha’s Vineyard is home to over 40 working farms, hundreds of commercial fishermen and dozens of food purveyors and producers? The food ecosystem on the Island is rich in both history and innovation, but many of these stories go unnoticed by the many visitors that flock to this island each year.

The Food Minded Fellow podcast invites you to listen and learn, to better understand the local food movement on the Island, and the people that enrich our community. I hope you are as captivated as I am by the men and women who work tirelessly to increase our local food production and thoughtfully farm our land and waters. May listening to their stories encourage you make more responsible food choices when dining on Martha’s Vineyard (and beyond!), and may you feel more connected to this incredible place as a result–I know I am.

ABOUT THE HOST

Gavin Smith is chef and owner of Food Minded Fellow, a private chef service based on Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard. With over a decade of restaurant management experience in New York City and Atlanta, coupled with a lifelong love of cooking and sharing food, his private chef service has grown to be a favorite for in-home dining on the island. His passion for food extends beyond the table to fishing, raising vegetables, and writing for the MV Times and Edible Vineyard. Since moving to the area in 2014, Gavin’s keen interest in the Island’s food system has deepened each day, resulting in the creation of the Food Minded Fellow podcast.
